Ellsworth School staff, retirees recognized at event

The spotlight shone on staff and retirees during the Ellsworth School District's 23rd annual recognition dinner June 8.

School Board President Laurie Andrews, who introduced board members, expressed appreciation to a staff she called "awesome."

Andrews also saluted outgoing Board Members Mary Erlandson and Steve Georgakas. She acknowledged she's now the only woman on the board.

Retirees received tributes at the event, including: Steve Broton, middle school principal, Barbara Cook, food service, Lorna Eidem, Prairie View library aide, Judy Hall, Hillcrest fourth grade teacher, Mike Hall, high school social studies teacher, Will Hall, middle school social studies teacher, Mary Kees, Hillcrest third grade teacher, Ruth Lee, Hillcrest music teacher, Wanda Nelson, Prairie View Panther Kids Club aide, and Dennis Zielinski, high school science teacher.

He holds a bachelors degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He previously worked in the media distribution department at the University of Minnesota's Minneapolis campus and is past editor of The Tri-County News in Osseo, Wisconsin.
