Ellsworth schools may close tomorrow
The Ellsworth School District is considering closing school Friday due to the extreme cold temperatures forecasted for Friday morning.
A wind chill advisory for western Wisconsin and the state of Minnesota has been issued by the National Weather Service. Lows could drop to -23 during the overnight and the early morning hours of Friday when children have to wait for school buses.
Plus the day is already an early dismissal day on the school calendar.
"Due to the fact it is a schedule early out for the end of the 2nd quarter; the Ellsworth School District would close for the entire school day if a late start was deemed necessary. All school announcements will be made via television and radio station sources. Please watch those sources closely over the next 24 hours. We chose to send this announcement home with your child to allow families to plan accordingly if necessary." Ellsworth Superintendent Barry Cain wrote in an email sent out this afternoon."
Hudson has announced it will delay for two hours tomorrow morning.
Check with the Pierce County Herald website for updates on school closings or delays tomorrow or any other event cancellations for tomorrow.
