Ellsworth schools welcome 23 new staffers

Twenty-three new Ellsworth School District staffers attended a workshop Thursday in preparation for the 2013-14 school year starting next Tuesday.

Katie Christenson

Christenson will be the Agricultural Education Instructor/FFA advisor at the high school.

Corey Enberg

A 2002 EHS graduate, Enberg returns to Ellsworth as a high school math teacher and the varsity boys basketball coach.

Alli Flynn

Flynn will be a teacher’s aide and working at Panther’s Kids Club at Prairie View Elementary.

Jessica Forsythe

Forsythe was hired as a middle school special education teacher.

Lauren Ganter

The Andover, Minn., native will be a third grade teacher at Hillcrest Elementary. A 2013 graduate of UW-River Falls, she student taught at Hillcrest while earning her Elementary Education degree.

Rebecca Hanestad

Hanestad will be at Hillcrest working in the Special Education Department. She previously taught at New Richmond Elementary and Cumberland.

Rachel Haugley

Haugley will be a teacher’s aide and work for the Panther’s Kids Club (PKC) at Hillcrest.

Eric Jacobsen

Jacobsen will be a computer tech for the Middle School and High School.

Marcie Jahnke

Jahnke will be a high school science teacher in addition to being the varsity girls track and field coach and cross country coach.

Michelle Jansen

Jansen was named as a fourth grade teacher at Hillcrest. A Twin Cities native, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Ecology and her Masters in Elementary Education.

Aria Krieser

Krieser was named as a counselor for the middle school and high school. She earned her Bachelor’s and Masters from Stout, where during that time she interned at Ellsworth and Elmwood.

Carissa Kusilek

Kusilek was hired as the district’s occupational therapist. She was previously a pediatric occupational therapist at Courage Center in Stillwater.

Diana Lange

Lange will work in special education at the middle school. She previously spent 16 years in Red Wing working in special education, alternative education and Indian education.

Tana Langer

Langer will be a first grade teacher at Hillcrest Elementary. The Bay City native originally worked for the Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery before wanting a second career.

Ben Magee

Born and raised in Prescott, Magee will be a 7th grade civics/geography teacher at the Middle School.

Jessie Maurer

The Prescott native will be a special education aide at the middle school. Maurer had previously substituted in Ellsworth.

Rocky Minder

Minder will be a custodian at the high school. The Ellsworth resident is married to Tammy and  are the parents of Drew, Olivia and Mabel.

Kelly Sather

Sather was hired as the librarian/keyboarding instructor for Hillcrest. She previously student taught at Hillcrest and was a summer school teacher at Hillcrest as well.

Kelly Sylla

Sylla was named as a second grade teacher at Prairie View.

Nicole VandeBerg

VandeBerg will be a high school math teacher, teaching algebra I, core geometry and advanced math. She comes from Prairie Farm Schools, where she taught 6th-8th grade math and algebra.

Vicky Westfield

An 1985 EHS graduate, Westfield will be a special education aide and work for the Panther’s Kids Club at Prairie View.

Joe Williams

Williams was hired to be an English teacher at the high school. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from UW-Stevens Point  and teaching credentials from California State Long Beach last year.

Nicole Woehrmann

Woehrmann was named as the Business Education teacher for both the middle and high school.

Jason Schulte
Jason Schulte is a reporter for the New Richmond News since February 2015. Prior to that he spent eight years at the Pierce County Herald in Ellsworth. His duties with the News will include covering news out of Hammond and Roberts along with action from St. Croix County court system. He lives in Roberts with his wife and two daughters.
