Ellsworth spikers win Spooner Invitational again

Ellsworth High School's volleyball team won first place in the Spooner Invitational Saturday. SPOONER - Ellsworth High School's volleyball team won the Spooner Invitational this weekend for the second straight season.

The Panthers were undefeated, finishing 5-0 in the competition Saturday. The Panthers beat Minong Northwood in three: 25-15, 16-25, 15-10, then Spooner's varsity 25-15 and 25-23; Shell Lake 25-19 and 25-20; Spooner's JV: 25-19 and 25-23 and finally Cumberland: 25-12 and 25-18.

Ellsworth is at Elmwood Tuesday with a match time of approximately 7:00 p.m.

Other county volleyball action has Alma at Plum City and Prescott at River Falls.
