Ellsworth third graders take Basic Aid Training course
Third graders in the Ellsworth School District recently completed a Basic Aid Training (BAT) program.
Sharlene Kreye, RN, district school nurse, has been teaching the program in the district since 1993. Some of the topics included in the course are: what to do in an emergency, where and how to get help, rescue breathing, choking and wounds.
The Ellsworth Ambulance Service also visited each classroom during the course.
Upon completion, each student received a certificate during a graduation ceremony, complete with the playing of “Pomp and Circumstance.”
