Ellsworth's 150th anniversary gets special salute on July 4th

Although it's quite a mouthful--that word "sesquicentennial"--people only think about it once every 150 years.

And so it's become special. Special enough that, like many other places, Ellsworth's marking the 150th anniversary of the community's founding this year with a celebration. Here, the festivities will peak on the Fourth of July, no less.

It all adds up to a fun-filled observance rooted in the village's heritage. Organizers are even taking their cue from past Ellsworth milestone celebrations in presenting this one.
