Elmwood board hears of library matters

ELMWOOD—Matters regarding the Elmwood Public Library were heard by the village board last month.
Library Assistant Casie Lukes has taken a full-time job and will resign. Radtke also noted Rick Talford incorrectly reported the circulation numbers in the Sun-Argus. The Sun-Argus reported circulation was down, when in fact it was up by approximately 33 percent. The village clerk confirmed the error after reviewing the minutes. It was also erroneously reported construction on a water, not a sewer, plant was starting.Radtke went on to report a change in insurance resulted in substantial savings for the nursing home. There is also a sprinkler project underway for the lean-to, Jeff Leehe will wash the roof in the spring and Elmwood Motors has been given a deadline for the removal of an oil tank.In other business:Kathy Geraets of the area 4-H club gave a presentation. Geraets awarded the board with the "2013 Friends of the 4-H" plaque and commended the board for its generosity.Trustee Susan Dzubay briefly summarized the 2014 budget, which was unanimously approved (with Trustees Neil Boltik and Brian Buck absent). Dzubay also moved to approve three operator's licenses, which were approved (with Trustee Mike Sand abstaining.)The board approved Resolution 2013-13 about the ATV trial in the village limits.
