Elmwood girls suffer another close loss
ELMWOOD - No one team should have to endure so many close losses but Elmwood High School's girls basketball team once again came oh-so-close, losing 45-44 at home to Boyceville Friday.
Five of the Raiders eight losses have come by a combined total of 15 points.
The Bulldogs outscored the Raiders 15-2 in the third quarter after Elmwood lead 24-19 at halftime and looked to cruise the rest of the way. But EHS mounted a comeback which outscored Boyceville 18-11 in the fourth quarter and brought them within a point of victory.
Elmwood had two players in double figures led by Christina McKune's 16 points and McKayla Brunner's 10 points.
Elmwood plays at Spring Valley Thursday. The Cardinals remain winless, losing at home to Elk Mound 47-33.
