They couldn't split the regional championship plaque in two, so Sue Thompson had an idea.

In order for both high schools, Elmwood and Plum City, to each have the award, the co-op programs' head coach took a picture of the plaque, blew it up and had it framed for Elmwood while PC got the actual plaque.

In time both schools will have their own plaques but it was one team that won the WIAA Division 3 Colfax Regional back on May 24.

Elmwood-PC used nine first places to amass 156 points, keeping them safely ahead of Eau Claire Regis' 117.50 points in the nine school meet.

"There's a lot of athletic talent at both schools," Thompson said. "Separately, each school might have had one good relay team and some good individual efforts. Together, we have four relay teams going on to sectional and whole lot of individuals."

Indeed, E-PC will send its largest contingent ever to a sectional meet, 17 entries in all, nine of them regional champions, also its largest amount ever.
