Elmwood-Plum City relays teams win sectional titles, Colbenson winner

COLFAX - Elmwood-Plum City's boys and girls' track and field teams came away with sectional titles in the relay races while Spring Valley distance runner Breanna Colbenson was also a sectional champion at Thursday WIAA Division 3 Colfax Sectional.

E-PC's girls' 1600-meter relay team took first in 4:14.09. Team members are Heather Von Holtum, Jessica Olson, Marah Boyer, Becky Hartung, Abbie Hartung and Elaina Danzinger.

The boys' 3200-meter relay squad won in 8:29.75. Team members are Tyler Churchill, Lance Von Holtum, Tyler Dink, Seth Jones, Nick Zopp and Jonathan Wieser.

Elmwood-PC will have several relay teams at next weekend's state meet in La Crosse. The girls' 800 relay team was second and the 3200 squad finished third. In the boys' meet, E-PC's 800 relay team finished fourth and the 1600 was second.

Also qualifying for state from the Elmwood-Plum City co-op were Jenna Reitz as she finished fourth in the 100-meter dash and third in the 200-meter dash; Alex Gilles, fourth in the 400-meter dash and second in the 800-meter run; Seth Jones, third in the 800-meter run and Jordyn Mark, third in the triple jump.

Spring Valley will have two participants in the state meet. Breanna Colbenson won the 3200-meter run in 11:32.07. She also finished second in the 1600 and 800 runs. Conner Sieracki will also go to state for SV as he took fourth in the 3200-meter run.
