Elmwood: Village Board approves 2010 budget
ELMWOOD--The Elmwood Village Board unanimously approved the 2010 budget early last week.
Board Member Bob Rupakus noted the budget is balanced and with only a slight tax increase of 8.9 percent.

Village Clerk Jodi Pulk requested a 50-cent minimum be charged for overdue bills. A lesser charge for a $5 garbage bill, for example, doesn't offset the cost of the extra bookkeeping, Pulk said.
Approval was given allowing Official Payments Corporation to offer online credit card payments for residents' bills. The village will receive funds two-to-three days after the transaction is completed.
All the election workers from last year were approved for the 2010-2011 election year. Several operators' license applications were also approved.
Board Member Neil Boltik participated in the meeting on speakerphone from Norfolk, Va. Boltik has reenlisted in the Navy and was to ship out for duty overseas in a day or two. He plans to call in for all future meetings during his tenure.
