Engineering crew nominated for state award due to PC work

PLUM CITY--The Plum City Village Board learned earlier this month Ayres and Associates has been nominated for a state award due to their work on the village's main street renovation project.

The American Council of Engineering Companies will hold a banquet in Kohler Friday, March 26, and Village President Doug Watkins and wife Gloria will represent the village.

In other news, the board:

--Approved the Plum City Community Garden Club's use of the community garden spot for the upcoming season. It was estimated the garden provided 1,200-1,300 pounds of food for the food pantry last year.

--Heard the pantry approved a commodities package in which WestCAP will give a box of food to anyone age 60 or older who signs up.

--Heard the fire department will host its steak fundraiser, with the date to be determined.

--Set the next meeting for 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 5.
