While area schools were welcoming back students for the fall term Wednesday, one former school site was nearly ready for a new purpose.

Instead of reading, writing and arithmetic, the ex-Sunnyside Elementary School northeast of Ellsworth will now be home to a logo printing operation. Bill Jiang is moving his Promotions Click business from Hastings, Minn., to the property along CTH G, east of Hwy. 63, which he found on a real estate's multiple listings service.

"I expect to pay 20 percent of my (previous) cost...20 percent of my (previous) taxes here," he said, comparing the Sunnyside property's affordability with the place where his firm was last located.

For the past two years, Jiang has owned the enterprise, custom making promotional items. The outfit prints logos on mouse pads, stress balls, micro-fiber cleaning cloths for eyewear and the like. It accepts orders from distributors.
