Farmers can still sign-up to attend "Ag Day" events in Madison
MADISON - Farmers who want to give state lawmakers a piece-of-their-minds can register by the end of today for a major lobbying event. The annual "Ag Day" is planned for next Wednesday in Madison.
Two state legislators will speak to the farmers - and then they'll meet face-to-face with their own representatives to express their concerns on state issues.
The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is one of the sponsors of Ag Day. It says the biggest concerns involve animal welfare, and Governor Jim Doyle's package of renewable energy measures aimed at reducing climate change. The group says the event is open to all types of Wisconsin farmers. But to take part, they'll have to register with the Farm Bureau Federation by today.
