Favre expects to start for Vikings vs. Patriots
FOXBORO, Mass. - Quarterback Brett Favre says he expects to start when his Minnesota Vikings take on New England.
Favre has two fractures in his left ankle, but he says he has healed significantly and will be ready to go. He was hurt in the 28-24 loss to the Packers last Sunday. Minnesota coach Brad Childress says he will wait until just before kickoff to decide whether Favre starts for the 293rd consecutive game.
Favre is 41 years old and has committed 14 turnovers in his first six games. His passer rating of 68.0 is 30th in the NFL, but Childress says he will start the future Hall of Famer if it gives the Vikings the best chance to win.
There are also news reports Sunday morning that Favre will start but may not finish the entire game.
