First call brings new pastor to Ellsworth area churches
Pastor Mary Eide described her pursuit of the ministry as "kind of a surprise."
Eide said she was having a conversation with a seminary student who had come to visit her then-Minot, N.D., home and learn what rural life was like. The visitor shared her sermon of call to the ministry, inspiring her host.
"Now I can look back at events in my life that led me there," the new pastor at Bethlehem and Eidsvold Lutheran Churches in Ellsworth and Bay City, respectively, said Thursday.

Amy Fondroy Eich is now pastor at Joy Lutheran Church in nearby Prescott.
