Fitness Influence to hold speciality classes
Fitness Influence owner Heather Flock announced last week the business will hold specialty classes this Saturday and Sunday with fitness professional Paula Harvey.
Harvey has been a fitness professional for over 20 years. She is a professional dance teacher, Madd Dog Spin instructor and a certified Baron Baptiste yoga instructor.
Flock explained the two have grown to become friends, as she has enlisted Harvey’s help as Flock makes her PRO Fitness debut in Atlantic City, N.J., next month.
“I love to tumble and finding a sport that involves fitness and tumbling was just perfect for me,” Flock said. “I have had help along the way, though. I have taught fitness classes for over 18 years now; however, putting together a routine with strength skills, tumbling and dance choreography was tough, and I wanted to be the best at it, so I found a coach to help me mesh the three aspects together.”
The two met for the first time in Boston, where Harvey lives, and the experience opened up Flock’s eyes in more ways than one.
“I went to Boston to meet (Harvey) and put my routine together and she lit up my world,” Flock said. “Her energy and drive pushed me to enter competitions and perform skills I never thought I had a chance at hitting...I learned so much from her and have continued to use her choreography and skills to help me guide my little gymnasts weekly at Fitness Influence. I am very excited to welcome her into Ellsworth to help me spread my love for fitness.”
The class schedule for Saturday is 7 a.m. Cycle, 8 a.m., Yoga, 9 a.m., Nutritional Seminar, 10 a.m. Savage Session (learn what it takes to compete in Fitness Competitions, body building and bikini categories). Sunday’s schedule is 7 a.m. Ripped and 8 a.m. Yoga.
Flock said the sessions are free for Fitness Influence members; otherwise, it is $10 per class. Pre-registration for Cycle class is required by e-mailing email@example.com.
