In 2014, on the afternoon of May 27, after a search warrant carried out by St. Croix Valley Drug Task Force officers at the 61-year-old Skordahl’s town of Troy home, 157 Hwy. 35 #16 at Fox’s trailer court, he was arrested and criminally charged with possession of  methamphetamine, marijuana (with intent to deliver) and drug paraphernalia.

The search allegedly also turned up trace amounts of heroin at Skordahl’s trailer home. He wasn’t charged with possessing this drug.

According to the criminal complaint, Skordahl admitted to using meth, saying he injects the drug and had done so that morning. A syringe was found on a coffee table along with, elsewhere, a bag of pipes and other drug-related items.

Skordahl was taken to St. Croix County Jail in Hudson. He was scheduled for a 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, preliminary hearing in St. Croix County Circuit Court.

When he ran for mayor in 1996, River Falls police had arrested Skordahl a dozen times. He said if elected mayor he would forgive them.

“I can even see myself, some of the officers and Chief (Roger) Leque going out and having a meal together after I become mayor,” Skordahl said.
