ELMWOOD--Four Elmwood School District teachers announced earlier this year they will retire.

Kindergarten Teacher Rhonda Traun, Physical Education Teacher Richard Jones, High School Math and Physics Teacher David Hoffman and High School Business Ed Teacher Linda Glampe have put in over 100 years combined at Elmwood.

The Herald sent out a survey to the four reflecting on their years and what advice they would have for parents today (Jones didn’t respond).

Linda Glampe

Glampe previously worked in retail and finance before switching to education, as she taught at St. John’s in Plum City before coming to Elmwood. Among her classes at Elmwood have been accounting, school publication, desktop publishing and marketing.

Glampe is the mother to three--Jason, Jody and Jenny--and grandmother to four.

“It’s impossible to pick one or two (moments),” she said, “but it was fun having my grandkids in school before I retired. I’m lucky and they all live close by.”
