"This goes beyond our expectations in seeing this large group of people having a good time," said Jim Shiely, chair of Friends of Freedom Park Board.

Since 2006, over 60,000 visitors from 50 states and 38 countries have visited the center, along with over 11,300 participants enjoying the center's 300 educational programs.

Throughout the 3½ hour event, visitors were able to sample items from the Bake Shop and More, Flat Pennies, The Norton's Restaurant, The Courtyard Restaurant, Muddy Waters, Ptacek's IGA, Enrique's Taco House, Nesbitt's Nursery and Churchill Market/Liquors.

In addition, visitors were also able to bid on over 25 silent auction items, which included trips to Mexico and Denver, a Picnic in the Park, fitness classes, Minnesota Wild tickets, fishing expeditions, golf packages from Madden's on Gull Lake and an indoor garden basket.
