Gaustad and Gilles both sixth at SCC invite

HAMMOND - Spring Valley's Emma Gaustad and Elmwood/Plum City's Andrew Gilles were the top Pierce County individual finishers at the St. Croix Central Invitational Thursday afternoon. Both runner placed sixth.

Gaustad hit the chutes in 17:31 while Gilles made it in 18:56 and his teammate Noah Wells came in right after him in 18:57.

Spring Valley's girls placed third in the meet behind Baldwin-Woodville and Glenwood City.  Also placing in the top 20 for the Cardinals were Sophie Koch at 16th in 18:27 and Pearl Davis in 17th in 18:32.

Prescott's girls were sixth out the 13 schools competing and EPC had an incomplete team. Prescott's Amanda Murphy finished ninth in 17:44 and teammate Annika Carlson was 14th in 18:24.  EPC's Libby Feuker and Josie Tiffany were 30th and 31st.

Spring Valley's boys team placed eighth, EPC was 10th and Prescott was 13th. Aidan Manley was SV's top runner finishing 14th in 19:42. Prescott's top time was put in by William Nitz in 39th place.

The next meet all these schools will be running in will be the New Richmond Invitational next Thursday.
