Gift Box program gets Pierce Pepin donation
The Pierce County Gift Box Program is the recipient of a $3,000 donation from Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services, through its Operation Round Up® program.
The Gift Box program helps brighten the holiday season for families less fortunate by matching applicants with individual or business sponsors who provide Christmas gifts. The program is coordinated by volunteers through the Cross Road Community Church, Ellsworth.
“As an electric cooperative, our commitment goes beyond providing safe, reliable electric service. Pierce Pepin and its members are dedicated to efforts that strengthen our communities and help those in need,” said Ron Johnson, Pierce Pepin’s board chairman.
Operation Round Up is a community service program funded by Pierce Pepin members who voluntarily round up their monthly electric bills to the next dollar each month, or donate a specific dollar amount. The program provides charitable contributions to nonprofit organizations offering programs and supporting projects to enhance the quality of life for those within the communities served by the cooperative.
Operation Round Up grants are awarded quarterly by the Pierce Pepin Board of Directors.
