Gophers eliminated from Big Ten tourney
MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota's baseball team was knocked out of the Big Ten Tournament with a 7-4 loss Friday against Nebraska at Target Field.
The Cornhuskers scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth led by Pat Kelley's three-run homer.
Minnesota came back with four runs of their own in the fifth inning, three coming off Matt Halloran's three-run shot. But the Huskers scored again in the seventh as Kelly hit a double and later scored. The Golden Gophers were held to just one hit from the sixth inning to the end by winning pitcher Luke Bublitz. J. Minnesota finishes its season with a 33-22 overall record, 13-8 in the Big Ten.
