Gordon Johnson, 76
Gordon Meredith Johnson, 76, of Prescott, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
He was born March 12, 1937, to Meredith and Grace (Lind) Johnson. He graduated from Prescott High School. On Sept. 3, 1960, he married Mary Jane Fisher. He spent 2 1/2 years in the army at Fort Benning, Georgia. He spent many years as the City Clerk of Prescott and after that, banking and accounting.
He was a member of the Lions Club, and the Post Commander of the American Legion. He enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, horseshoes, camping, puzzles, books and riding his Harley, especially to Sturgis, South Dakota. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Jane; his children, Pam (James), Carol (Mike), Jeff (Tracy), Brian (Rae) his grandchildren; Jeremy, Alexander, Marie McKenna, Jade and his great-grandchildren, Skye, Andrew and Cooper. Brother Norm (Shirley) Johnson and sister Shirley (Dwayne) Schroeder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Meredith and Grace; stepmother Rosella; and brother, Gary.
Visitation was at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at Hill Funeral Home in Prescott. Services were at St Joseph's Church at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 6, in Prescott.
Arrangements were with Hill Funeral Home in Prescott.
