Great River Road Center seeks greater, gardener volunteers
PRESCOTT -- The Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center in Prescott is looking for friendly and engaging people to greet visitors and provide information to travelers, especially on weekends.
Last year, over 19,000 travelers visited the center. Interact with people from all over the U.S. and foreign countries who are visiting this region.
Two four-hour times each month is requested. Volunteers get a free membership, shop discount and fun appreciation events.
The center is also recruiting gardeners to help in the demonstration gardens. The center has three different types of gardens: rain, butterfly and prairie plant. Most of the garden plants are perennials indigenous to this region.
If willing to get hands in the dirt, weed on Thursday evenings. Volunteers get a free membership, shop discount and fun appreciation events.
