Groundbreaking held for Pamida
Ellsworth Wisconsin 126 S. Chestnut St. 54011

One won't see a Pamida store in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Madison or Milwaukee areas.

They'll be found in smaller communities in which the retail chain believes it can succeed like Ellsworth which has been on the company's radar screen for awhile.

"For several years, we've been looking hard at this community," explained Jim Larson, Vice President of Property Development for Pamida. "... We looked at towns that fit our niche of 2-5,000 people and Ellsworth jumped out at us. We liked what we saw and the rest is history."

Larson was saying those words June 12, moments after the groundbreaking ceremony was held on the site of where the future store is going to be in Ellsworth, located in the Crossing Meadows Development off of State Highway 65 and Crosstown Road.
