Guy 'glamour' the draw for 'fun' calendar sold in Ellsworth

Some Ellsworth men have struck photogenic poses to help in the fight against what's traditionally considered a women's disease--breast cancer.

The guys are featured on the pages of a new calendar sponsored by several local businesses, according to Eric Anderson of The Hub in the village's west business district. After the costs of producing the 2013 calendar are covered, proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society (ACS).

"It's unique in raising money for a cause," Anderson said Wednesday about the effort, which originated with a couple of the participants sitting around, brainstorming ideas for a fun project.
