Half of All D-SC wrestling team from Spring Valley/Elmwood

There are 14 weight classes in high school wrestling. The Spring Valley/Elmwood prep wrestling co-op team had members take half those weight classes for the 2014 All Dunn-St. Croix Conference first team.

Redbird members of the first team start with senior Derek Huebel at 113 pounds, freshman Cruze Hurlburt at 120; senior Tyler Berg at 126; senior Zach Newton at 145; senior Trent Miller at 160; senior Kevin Fesenmaier at 170 and sophomore Ethan Hofacker at 195.

Huebel was on the first team last season and so was Berg and Hofacker. Newton was the second team a season ago.

SVE team members on the All D-SC second team are sophomore Andrew Webb at 106; sophomore Logan Newton at 132; sophomore Ryan Berg at 138; sophomore Jed Schlegel at 152 and senior D.J. Wheeler at 285.

Spring Valley/Elmwood won the D-SC dual meet title for the fourth straight season.

Also making the first team were Boyceville junior Austin Wolfe at 106; Mondovi junior Trevor Geidd at 132; Boyceville freshman and state champion Micah Johnson at 138; St. Croix Central sophomore Trent Smith at 152; SCC senior Brian Gibb at 182, Glenwood City sophomore Donovan Fornal at 220 and GC senior Brennen Kessler at heavyweight. Wolfe made the first team in 2013.
