Helene C. Sherman
Helene C. Sherman, of Ellsworth, passed away on Oct. 4.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Rev. Willard Sherman.
She is survived by their four children, Kenneth, Judy, Dianne, and Richard; three grandchildren, Shannon, Shaun, and Wesley; and two great-grandchildren.
She was born in Eveleth, Minnesota, to Primo and Giacomina Chiodini, and had three siblings. Following her graduation from Eveleth College, Helene traveled to Italy where she studied for three years at the Lucca Conservatory of Music.
After her marriage to Willard in 1941, Helene taught piano from her home, as well as in area schools, and served as organist and choir director in various parishes. She was an avid reader, talented writer, political activist, and cat lover. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Society of River Falls.
By her request, upon passing, her body was donated to a University Department of Anatomy.
