Helping children of all ages and all abilities
PRESCOTT--If Traci Leffner, executive director for the local Sylvan Learning Center, ever needs evidence about what Sylvan can do for a child, she can turn to Traci Leffner, mother.
"My daughter was remedial before she started with Sylvan," Leffner said. "The difference she had when she left was amazing. Her confidence and skill level changed completely."
Therefore, Leffner jumped at the opportunity to take over as Hudson director in 2009. The growth in families from eight to 65 since, along with the advances in technology, caught the attention of Leffner's bosses as they okayed the opening of a satellite branch. Discussion resulted in Prescott, which opened April 1 in the lower level of First National Bank.
Leffner and Mandy Hoyt, who will be the Prescott director, extolled the virtues of a Sylvan education.
"It is about establishing a personal relationship with students," Leffner said. "Finding out what they are excited about and what it will take for them to learn."
