Hinzman leaving Elmwood for B-W
ELMWOOD - When Jon Hinzman heard about the vacant Viking Middle School Principal opening for the Baldwin-Woodville School District, he threw his hat in the ring.
"I wasn't looking and didn't think a whole lot about it," the current Elmwood Elementary Principal said.
After going through the interview process and finding out he was their choice, his thought process began to change.
"The chance to work for a larger school and being closer to my family (wife Tera is a teacher at St. Croix Central in Hammond)," he said, explaining his reasoning.
Monday, the B-W School Board approved the recommendation in hiring Hinzman. He will start July 1.
"This is a tremendous loss for the District," Elmwood Superintendent Adam Zenner said. "As an administrator and an employee, he's made a significant contribution on all levels. I've always enjoyed my time with him and wish him the best of luck."
