Holiday craft event and benefit Dec. 8 at Mt. Zion
The Holiday Craft Hullabaloo Dec. 8 is designed to benefit children and the Roger Davis fund. Davis of North Hudson was recently diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment.
The crafting session which runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. is for school-aged children and includes lunch. It is being held at Mt. Zion Church, 505 13th St. S.
Organizers say children should be able to create four to five holiday gifts. They also remind parents to take advantage of a few "kid-free hours" to get some of their holiday shopping done. The lunch will feature homemade macaroni and cheese courtesy of Bayport BBQ and the Johnson family.
The cost is $25 per child with a $60 family maximum when bought in advance and $30 per child with a $70 maximum the day of the event.
The workshop will be run and managed by Hudson Destination Imagination students who have been on Davis's numerous teams or worked with him in DI. The session will be supervised by adult volunteers.
