Hubbers bounce back from weekday loss for weekend win

The Ellsworth Hubbers came back from a mid-week defeat to River Falls to beat New Richmond on the weekend.

The Hubbers lost to River Falls 11-8 Wednesday at Summit Park but came back to beat New Richmond 10-7 Saturday at Citizen’s Park in New Richmond.

Also playing on Saturday was Elmwood as they hosted Menomonie. The game was called in the sixth inning due to rain but Eagles had a 6-3 lead at the time and thus were given the win.

Hager City downed Spring Valley 7-4 Sunday at Brown Field in Hager City. The Skeeters had 10 hits led by  Ross Sweig and Austin Johnson’s two hits each and two RBIs each as well.  HC scored four runs in the sixth to expand on a 3-2 lead. Darren Georgakas was the winning pitcher while James Georgakas got the save.

Also on Sunday, Bay City was defeated by Hudson 10-1 at Hortenbach Park in Bay City.
