Humane societies file appeal of judge's ruling
MADISON - The fight to keep dogs from being used to hunt wolves isn't over yet. A group of humane societies filed an appeal of a judge's ruling yesterday in Dane County.
The lawsuit alleges the Wisconsin DNR failed to impose any real restrictions on wolf hunters use of dogs when the rules were established for the first wolf season. They say that set the stage for bloody fights between wolves and dogs.
The notice of appeal was sent to the 4th District Court of Appeals saying the judge failed to address concerns listed in the original case.
