Huppert guests at park fundraiser April 28
PRESCOTT--Boyd Huppert, KARE-TV 11 (Twin Cities) Emmy award-winning journalist and creator of "Land of 10,000 Stories," will be the special guest at the seventh annual Taste of Freedom Fundraising Event Saturday, April 28, from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center at Freedom Park in Prescott.
The annual event, hosted by the Friends of Freedom Park, includes live music, food and drink, a silent auction and more. Music will be by Latin American harpist Nicolas Carter, recently featured on TPT's "Minnesota Original."
Ticket prices are $40/person if purchased before April 28 and $45 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at www.freedomparkwi.org or call 715-262-0104 to pay by check or credit card.
Local restaurants and eateries will feature appetizers and desserts. Local wine and beer will also be available for tasting.
The silent auction features many exceptional items, including guided tour of KARE-TV 11 by Boyd Huppert, four tickets to the Twins vs. Mariners game, a South African 1983 gold Krugerrand, a special river boat cruise for two, a weekend getaway to the BlueFin Bay resort, a weekend cabin getaway, artwork by Pauly Cudd, Andy Evansen, Art Nordstrom and other local artists, a guided fishing trip, lots of specialty baskets, gift cards and more.
Proceeds from this event support the programs of the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center.
