On the ice Badgers take down Minnesota teams
Two goals from Patrick Johnson help the University of Wisconsin men's hockey team come from behind to tie Minnesota, 2-2.
The tie puts the Badgers into fourth place in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Wisconsin's record is 11-10-5, including 7-8-3 in conference.
Johnson's second goal, with a little less than 7:30 minutes remaining, knotted the score.
Neither team hit the net in overtime. Shane Connelly stopped 30 shots for Wisconsin which is unbeaten in its last five games.
There were plenty of witnesses to the 4-0 shutout of St. Cloud State which was posted by the Wisconsin women's hockey team Saturday afternoon.
The 5,377 fans in the Kohl Center set a new NCAA women's hockey attendance record.
Jinelle Zaugg had two of the Badger goals. Hillary Knight and Mallory Deluce also scored. Goaltender Jessie Vetter stopped 18 shots, notching her eighth shut out of the season and No. 23 in her career.
Wisconsin's record improves to 18-6-2, including 13-4-2 in the WCHA.
