James A. Peterson, 68
James Arthur Peterson, 68, of Ellsworth, died Monday, March 3, at the American Heritage Care Center, Hammond, Wis.
Jim was born on May 16, 1945, in Red Wing, Minn., the son of Leonard "Smokey" and Bessie (Barnes) Peterson.
He was a graduate of Ellsworth High School. Jim worked as a woodworker for St. Croix Mfg in Bay Port, Minn., for many years.
Jim is survived by his daughter Mitzie Peterson, Eau Claire, Wis.; sisters, Sharon (Joe) Vandenburg, and Wanda Mathison; brother-in-law Wayne Supri; nephews, Scott (Barbara) Supri, and Larry (Connie) Supri; nieces, Sue (John) Waggner, and Brenda (Joe) Stark. Further survived by eight grand-nieces and nephews; and three great-grand-nieces and nephews; special friends: Ed and Deb Hanson, Steve "Gundy" Gunderson, Patty Moran, Linda Hove, and George Quist, Gary Cain, Phil, and Kim Hugget, Cheryl Braun, and Eugene Fall, and the Steve, and Mary Straub family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Marilyn Supri.
Funeral services for Jim will be 6 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, Wis. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Trimbelle Cemetery in the Spring.
