Joseph H. Dougherty, 63
Joseph H. Dougherty, age 63, of Ellsworth, died Nov. 25, at the Kinnic Health and Rehab Center, River Falls, Wis.
Joe was born Jan. 9, 1950, in Red Wing, Minn. to Richard and Judith (Johnson) Dougherty. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1968. He worked as a driver for DEM in Ellsworth for more than 25 years. He had many passions. He knew every back road and small town in northwestern Wisconsin. Whether in the truck or on the motorcycle, he was never lost. He loved to read and had a great memory which served him well for crossword puzzles. He particularly looked forward to his annual trips to Arizona with the guys. Joe never lost his keen sense of humor or quick wit through all the challenges he faced. Family get togethers were something he never missed and truly enjoyed.
Survivors include sister Patty of Eau Claire; brother Tim (Cheryl) of River Falls; brother-in-law Sam Haster, Ellsworth; significant other Sandy (Erickson) McTie of Ellsworth; nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister Peg; and brother-in-law Steve Johnsen.
Services for Joe will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, Wis. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of services. Burial will be in the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Ellsworth at a later date.
