Judge revokes bond of man accused of drugging girlfriend for miscarriages

A judge in Appleton has revoked a big cash bond for the man accused of drugging his girlfriend into two miscarriages and then apparently bolting to his native India after he was arrested and freed.

More than 20 people put up $750,000 to free Manish Patel.

A judge will hold a hearing Feb. 20 for those who will try to get that money back.

The girlfriend's lawyer, former state Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager, says her client is also entitled to some of that cash.

Prosecutors said Patel put up some of that bond money himself.

Patel, 34, faces nine criminal charges after he allegedly got his girlfriend pregnant on two occasions and served her the RU 486 abortion pill so she wouldn't give birth.

Patel is married to somebody else, and he and his girlfriend already have a 3-year-old child.
