Keene named WIAC Runner of the Week once again
MENOMONIE (October 22, 2013) - UW-Stout's Jessop Keene<http://athletics.uwstout.edu/roster.aspx?rp_id=2981> (Sr, Ellsworth/Prescott) finished third of 566 runners at the Brooks Invitational hosted by UW-Oshkosh at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Oct. 19, and was selected as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) runner of the week. Keene was also selected as the UW-Stout Northwestern Mutual Athlete of the Week.
Keene finished in a personal-best time of 24-minutes, 33-seconds, 13 seconds off the pace to earn the WIAC award for the third time this season. Keene has improved his times at all three of his competitions this season.
Keene clocked a time of 25:05.8 in winning the season-opening UW-River Falls Invitational, Sept. 14. Keene finished third overall at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Open in a time of 24:50.
As a team, Stout has been ranked 10th in the Midwest Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Regional Rankings. Stout will compete next at the WIAC Men's Cross Country Championship, Saturday, Nov. 2 at UW-River Falls.
