Kenneth Noltee, 49

Kenneth Mark Noltee of Ellsworth passed away on Tuesday, July 9, at the Ellsworth Care Center, surrounded by family, after a 2-year battle with cancer.

He was born May 25, 1964, in Rochester, Minn., son of Clifford II and Sandra (Small) Noltee. Ken grew up in Goodhue, Minn., and graduated from Goodhue High School. After high school he enlisted in the Minnesota Army National Guard for 8 years; he trained with the 101st Airborne and also went to Norway and trained with the Norwegian Guards. On Feb. 22, 2013, he married Debbie Jennings; they had been together for 23 years.

Ken worked at Red Wing Shoe Company for 15 years. He traveled the U.S. for HBI where he was a construction superintendent building hotels, then most recently he worked for B&B Construction and also driving school bus for Red Wing schools until becoming too ill. He was a member of the American Legion in Rochester.

In his spare time, he loved to hunt and fish with his boys. He especially loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie; two sons, Alex and Nick, both at home; two stepsons, Travis (Ashlee) Jennings of Ellsworth and Jacob (Tiffany Pfingsten) Jennings of Hager City; three grandchildren, Ayden, Mason, and Ava Jennings; his father, Clifford II (Middie) Noltee of Rochester; stepfather Terry Mattson of Goodhue; three brothers, Clifford III of Minneapolis, Randy of Rochester, and Brian (Jody) Gordon of Bellechester, Minn.; step-sister Denise (Patrick) Kinyon of Rochester; mother-in-law Lois Melstrom; brothers-in-law Kevin (Shelly Spiegelberg) Melstrom, Brian and Daryl Melstrom, and sister-in-law Julie Melstrom, all of Ellsworth. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Mattson; father-in-law Royce Melstrom; and grandparents Vernon and Mildred Small and Clifford and Mildred Noltee.

Services for Kenneth will be held at Bethel Covenant Church at 2 p.m. Friday, July 12. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at the Hill Funeral Home in Ellsworth.
