Kenseth's ninth place finish boosts him in Sprint Cup standings
ATLANTA - Denny Hamlin won for the second straight week, taking yesterday's AdvoCare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He held off Jeff Gordon for the win.
A ninth place finish by Cambridge native Matt Kenseth actually boosted the Wisconsin driver up a notch into third place in the Sprint Cup Series points standings. Eau Claire's Paul Menard finished just ahead of Kenseth in eighth place.
Also in the field were Janesville's Travis Kvapil in 26th and Beloit native Danica Patrick, who finished 29th. Menard moved up to 15th in the points standings with his good finish in Atlanta.
