Kinnickinnic: Architectural plans for animal shelter presented
Sharon Elliott, President of St. Croix Animal Friends, was present at the Jan. 5 Kinnickinnic Town Board meeting to discuss architectural plans for the animal adoption center that the group wants to build in Kinnickinnic.
The architect that Elliott has been working with has experience with designing animal shelters. She said that the facility will have a rural look and will blend in with other homes and buildings in the area. The proposed location has 40 acres off of Hwy. 65.
Elliott told the Board that the facility would house up to 45 dogs and 75 cats and would accept animals from St. Croix County and possibly Pierce County as well.
The Board had questions about the facility's potential growth in the future as well as safety issues.
