Klaas-Jonas pool gets ready for fall
Upcoming activities at the Klaas-Jonas Community Swimming Pool adjacent to Ellsworth Middle School have been announced.
--The pool was to be closed Tuesday of this week to prepare for the dome going up. The facility is expected to reopen on Wednesday, Sept. 24. These dates are tentative; check the website for updates or call the pool for more information.
--Step Aerobics will be offered again while the pool is closed. It will only be offered from 5:15-6:15 a.m. at the middle school gym on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, beginning this Wednesday. The other times are not available due to gym conflicts. Regular admission and memberships apply.
--Now that school's back in session, the fall pool schedule will resume. Morning water aerobic and lap swim times are from 5:15-10:00 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with Parent/Tot and lap swim times from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, water aerobics and lap swim will be from 6:15-8 a.m. Check the website for exact class times. After-school Open Swim starts at 3 p.m. Monday-Friday.
--There will now be a 4 p.m. water aerobic class offered on Fridays, along with the 5 p.m. class. These class times are on a trial basis only. If attendance is good, they'll be kept, so pass the word!
--October Swimming Lesson Sign-Up is Monday, Sept. 29, from 6-8 p.m. at the Ellsworth Community Middle School Cafetorium. PS I and PS II and Levels 1-6 will be offered.
PS I & II are $20 and last for 30 minutes for two weeks. They begin on Tuesday, Oct. 7, and continue through Saturday, Oct. 18. Preschool I is with the parents in the water.
L 1-6 are $30 and last for 45 minutes for three weeks. They begin on Tuesday, Oct. 7, and continue through Saturday, Oct. 25. Students must complete kindergarten to register for Level 2.
The next available lessons will be held in the evenings of January.
