Late-game comeback lifts River Falls over Elmwood
RIVER FALLS - The Elmwood Expos' lead over the River Falls Fighting Fish evaporated in the late innings and thus the Fish rallied for an 8-4 St. Croix Valley League win Friday evening at First National Bank Field.
The Expos led 4-2 after six and half innings of play but the Fish outscored them 6-1 for the duration of the ballgame. River Falls tied the score in the bottom of ther seventh and then plated four runs in the eighth.
Cody Holden and Royce Baier both had two hits for Elmwood. Jonah Lansing drove in three runs while Adam Churchill scored twice. Cody Konsela hit a double for Elmwood while Josh Eidem hit a triple for River Falls. Adam Stuessel and Colin Pechacek both had three hits for RF with Clint Kempf getting three RBIs along with Steussel. Brian Giebel scored three runs to lead the Fish.
Spring Valley plays at River Falls this afternoon.
