Lenn named Top Teacher by FOX9
Greg Lenn says he loves what he does and wouldn't trade being a teacher for anything.
"The feeling of excitement when (students) get it," he said, about what he enjoys.
Lenn has spent the last 18 years as a teacher at Malone Elementary in Prescott and his efforts to improve anyone and everyone there associated with the school haven't gone unnoticed.
"He's been a Godsend to this place," Malone Principal Dr. Scott Halverson said. "He is constantly helping teachers here become better."
Echoed fellow teacher Kelly Johnson: "He is phenomenal. He's an inspiration to all teachers here. He is so selfless."
So, when Randy Meier of Fox-9 Twin Cities walked through the gym doors Thursday afternoon to announce a Malone teacher was named a Top Teacher by the television station, and, after a brief description of the nominee, it took the student body seconds to identify the winner as Lenn.
"They did a nice job of keeping it a surprise," Lenn said.
Lenn received $900 for classroom supplies along with a Subway sandwich party.
