TO THE EDITOR: I appreciate Yvonne Kulow, Jean Hovde and Village Clerk Peggy Nelson for all of their hard work on Tuesday, Feb. 16, during the primary election.
We saw 526 voters turn out for the primary. This would be a good turnout for some general elections.
I also recognize the voters for their patience, as we had only one voting machine. There were some backups during the day, but for the most part everything went smoothly.
I commend the candidates for getting the voters out to vote. This is what should happen at every election. Voting is a privilege that doesn't exist in other parts of the world, at least not as we know it here in the United States of America.
