Letter: He disputes police report published in Herald
Ellsworth Wisconsin 126 S. Chestnut St. 54011

TO THE EDITOR:

To whom it may concern:

I feel compelled as a parent to write this letter on behalf of my son Joe Hayes.

First of all, the young lady who claims my son abducted her was really questioned by the Ellsworth Police Department in connection with theft of a 20-day-old puppy from my son's residence. Upon questioning of the young woman, the police returned the puppy from her residence.

At no time has my son ever abducted anyone. This young lady has been at my son's residence before on other occasions and also on the day of his arrest. He, along with friends, picked her up at her home and she went to my son's on her own free will.

My son has not been charged with abduction charges. Please, when you print articles to sell your papers, please be sure to print the truth.

Richard Hayes
