Letter: She commends organizers of local triathlon
TO THE EDITOR:
I would like to commend the organizers of the first annual Ellsworth Triathlon for the excellent community event they put on Sunday, June 14.
Annie Anderson of the Klaas-Jonas Pool, John Radabaugh, intern, and Heather Flock of Fitness Influence prepared a class event. There were many participants, an abundance of volunteers, gift bags for participants and volunteers, mile markers, arrow signs, maps, police officers to watch for traffic, EMTs present with an ambulance, an electronic timer at the finish line, flower displays at the finish line and a bouquet of flowers for each finisher, food and drink for participants after they had completed the triathlon, prizes, and even a free massage for those who wanted one.
It is an enjoyable event like this that makes people want to get more active and become more healthy. What a great example the participants gave us and what a positive message we received from them and their supporters.
I hope all the sponsors -- Feuerhelm Langer, LTD., Mike's Baytown, Hinck's Economart, Ideal Sportswear, Plummer Concrete, The Service Agency, Wheel House Cycles, El Paso Bar and Grill, National Guard, Bo Jo's Creations and Ellsworth Chiropractic, who donated the massages--all consider being a supporter again next year.
Appreciation's extended for a classy event that should make Ellsworth community proud. Well done.
