Local business scene updated for Ellsworth chamber
Developments on the local business scene were updated for the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce last month.
Chamber Executive Director Sarah Ries reported Tami Langer of Ellsworth has established Langer Investments in a building behind Plummer Concrete and was to hold an open house last week.
Village President Jerry DeWolfe of the chamber announced the groundbreaking for a new assisted living facility in Ellsworth will be held this month. The complex will involve 40 units initially, with the potential for 20 more in the future.
DeWolfe also said village officials are hopeful about Shopko accepting an offer to turn the space adjacent to their existing local pharmacy into a Hometown Express store. This could occur sometime in the fall.
The new McDonald's restaurant in the village's midway district is progressing, he said, likely to be open in July. Meantime, Quinn Motors in west end has plans to expand into neighboring space where a former gas station was recently demolished. The dealership will act to meet General Motors expectations, he said.
